First and Emergency Aid (Paramedic)

 

First and Emergency Aid (Paramedic) is defined as the key to the life chain in Emergency Health Services and forms an important part of pre-hospital emergency care; He is a professional who is equipped with the knowledge to intervene in a critical patient or injured person at the first moment, knows what to do in case of any kind of incident, and acts in accordance with ethical rules.

 

PURPOSE: The aim of this program is to train qualified manpower to work in emergency health service units of other institutions and organizations, especially health institutions.

 

Education Duration: 2 years

Qualifications Required in Students Physical Characteristics: Students to be admitted to this program must obtain a report from a full-fledged official hospital certifying that they have a physical structure and mental health that does not prevent them from obtaining a driver's license; They must have sufficient body structure and strength for rescue and transportation work; They must be over 17 years of age on the date of registration, as they are required to drive in the second grade as per the curriculum. Students who will enroll in this program must wear the uniform required by the profession during applied courses.

Internship Practices and Duration During the Education at the High School: 20 working days in the summer term of the First and Emergency Aid program and II. Class 20-day compulsory practice during the summer term and II. During the Spring semester of the class, hospital practice is carried out for 14 weeks, 5 days a week.

Title and Fields of Work of Program Graduates: Graduates of this program receive the title of Health Technician. Graduates can work in emergency aid units of public and private organizations, emergency health service central administration units, emergency aid stations, emergency aid, patient transport and specially equipped ambulance services, and emergency aid control and command centres.

Job Opportunities: Provided that they pass the KPSS exam and are appointed, they can work in Public Institutions and Organizations in this sector or as Health Technicians in Private Health Institutions and Organizations.

Future of the Profession: After our students are successful in our School, if they take the Vertical Transfer Exam held by the Student Selection and Placement Center and pass, they are entitled to undergraduate education. With developing technology, healthcare organizations are starting to prefer university graduates as they need qualified personnel, and it is expected to become even more important in the future.

Departments with Vertical Transfer:

Students who graduate from our program can transfer to the departments of "Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services" with a vertical transfer.
