LABORATORY USE PROCEDURE

PRACTICAL COURSES OF THE DEPARTMENT ARE HELD IN THE ORAL AND DENTAL HEALTH LABORATORIES AND DENTAL CLINICS OF THE FACULTY OF DENTISTRY.

The program trains "Dental Clinical Assistants" to prepare the necessary environment for all clinical work in dentist offices, public or private dental clinics, assist patients during treatment, and assume responsibility for patient admissions. The evolving educational and cultural levels of our society are also increasing awareness of health. In this sense, oral and dental health is an important and evolving area of medicine.

            In today's rapidly advancing dental profession, it's difficult for a dentist to effectively manage a clinic alone. In this regard, dental assistants are crucial. Historically, these assistants continued their profession after an apprenticeship without any formal training. For a dental clinic to operate effectively, it's essential to employ scientifically qualified personnel with the necessary training and skills. A similar practice is also implemented in developed countries. During the two-year associate degree program, students are trained by expert dentistry faculty members and acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and equipment to practice their profession from the most reliable sources. The educational process will include both theoretical and practical applications. Students' workplace training, practice, and internships will be conducted in accordance with the principles and procedures determined by the Council of Higher Education.

Purpose of the Program;

            The goal is to train personnel equipped with the knowledge and skills to prepare the necessary environment for all clinical work of dentists in dentist offices, public or private dental clinics, assume responsibility for patient admission, treatment, and registration, and respond to the changing needs of society. These individuals are provided with work and activity areas where they can fully utilize their knowledge. Internship opportunities provided throughout the program provide students with ample opportunities for maximum personal development. The Vocational School's curriculum should not solely focus on theoretical development. It should also be reinforced with a strong practical foundation. Human relationships, crucial in today's business world, are emphasized, ensuring the full social maturation of individuals.
